PURPOSE

  The purpose of this Association shall be to:

​

  • Provide avenues for Polygraph Examiners in the state to unite and collaborate in ongoing professional efforts.

  • Promote and encourage the exchange of new ideas, methods, and techniques that enhance the skills and proficiency of Polygraph Examiners.

  • Strive for the highest standards of proficiency and ethics in the administration of Polygraph Examinations, fostering an environment where Examiners conduct themselves with dignity, integrity, and professionalism, thereby strengthening the reputation of the Polygraph Association.

  • Encourage Polygraph Examiners to actively participate in available training programs, seminars, and other professional development opportunities.

  • Uphold and advocate for the interests of the Tennessee Polygraph Association, offering recommendations on potential changes beneficial to the Polygraph profession.

  • Promote adherence to the code of ethics established by the Tennessee Polygraph Association, as well as support for the proposed licensing act and the work of the State of Tennessee and Polygraph Commission.

Qualifications for Membership:​​

​

  • Must be a citizen of the United States.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

  • Is of good moral character.

  • Must be a graduate of a polygraph school recognized and approved by either the American Association of Police Polygraphers or the American Polygraph Association.

  • Must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.

  • Must be an active polygraph examiner at the time of application for membership or retired from the polygraph association.
